Couple Returns From Honeymoon To Find Their House Wrapped In Pink Plastic

Couple Returns From Honeymoon To Find Their House Wrapped In Pink Plastic

It's a great prank, but it might take you a few seconds to see the funny side

Just about the only thing that is good about coming home from a lovely holiday is that you're back in your own house, with your own bed.

Sure, the mountain of washing isn't going to clean itself, but after time away, it is sometimes quite comforting to be back.

Well, imagine if instead of having to cut the plastic shrink-wrapping away from your case to unleash the mountain of sandy shorts and t-shirts, you had to do exactly that - but with your own house.

That's the situation that one couple found themselves in once they returned from their dream honeymoon in Mexico.

Jenny and Jonathan Minger came home to their house in Alsager, Cheshire, to find that a group of their friends had played a prank on them and covered their entire house in pink plastic.

Oh, and they also covered the couple's car for good measure.

While it's not good news for the sea (here's hoping they recycled it), it is still pretty funny.

Four of their pals decided to take the opportunity to wrap up the house for the couple's return from Cancún, where they had been staying for two weeks.

You'd have to imagine it would take a few minutes to see the funny side of it, but once you've got through it with the penknife - which is exactly what they had to do - it might start to sink in.

While we're at it, what exactly did their neighbours think about the whole affair?

Twenty-five-year-old Jenny said: "We were shocked, it was a big surprise. We weren't expecting it at all. 'We only moved in three months ago. I was like, 'Oh my goodness!'

"They couldn't have chosen a better colour to wrap it with. It's actually the plastic that Jonathan uses on the farm to promote breast cancer awareness."

Yes, Jonathan's bosses, James and Dawn Oulton, and their friends Andrew Ripley and Dan Sale are the masterminds behind this little joke. It took them four hours to get the stuff on the house before the couple got back at about 8am.

Jonathan, who works as a dairy farmer, added: "Apparently it's a thing people do now when you come back from honeymoon, it was a prank.

"I was a bit surprised, but it's a bit of a laugh. It took them three hours to put it all up. All the neighbours came out last night to watch.

"We got back this morning at about 8am and it took about half an hour to get down with a pen-knife.

"I had to use my car keys at first though, to cut through the plastic around the front door."

The good news is it's not over yet. The couple are planning their revenge already. Those four friends had better sleep with one eye open from now on...
