A cyclist who was recorded shouting at a pregnant woman has insisted he's 'not the bad guy'.

Dave Parker, 55, was captured on camera launching a sweary tirade on a pregnant woman who accused him of breaking the Highway Code by travelling two abreast in the middle of the road.

In the clip the man, who was out cycling with his wife, can be heard calling the woman a 'f***ing stupid c***' as she attempts to tell him off for being in the middle of the road.

The woman says: "If you actually look in the Highway Code you can see that you're not allowed two abreast."

To which he argues back that cyclists can go 'double file' on a 30-mile an hour road.

Now, the dad, who lives in Louth in Lincolnshire, has told the Sun he wasn't to blame over the incident.

He said: "I don't want to talk about it. I am getting too much stick - it is unbelievable."

He added: "All I can say is that they said I was screaming at a pregnant woman.

"Well, I wasn't. Initially, she nearly knocked me and my wife off our bikes. But it does not show all that. But I am the bad guy, aren't I?"

He then went on to tell the news outlet he didn't want to add anything else as 'it just gets twisted'.

Section 66 of the Highway Code advises cyclists not to 'ride more than two abreast' and suggest they 'ride in single file on narrow or busy roads' and when riding 'round bends'. But this is an advisory rule only and there's no law in place to prevent cyclists from doing so.

The code goes on to say that cyclists can ride in the middle of the lane to deter unsafe passes.

The clip, which was filmed near Cleethorpes, has been viewed hundreds of times with many social media users condemning Parker's use of language - one person wrote: "Regardless of who is right and who is wrong, there is no need for such aggression and disgusting language."

Others pointed out he was right, with one saying: "While the guy's behaviour is completely disgusting, he is correct. We are allowed in the middle of the roads and are allowed to cycle two wide. You have to treat cyclists just like you would a motorbike or another car."
