A double decker has smashed into a house in south London.

The number 118 bus was making its way to Brixton shortly before 9pm last night when the driver reportedly lost control and the red bus hit a car before it careened into a house.

The road in Streatham Vale was cordoned off, while police and paramedics attended the scene.

Photos shared online show at least one house damaged by the bus, as well as cars and debris in the street.

Cops have said three people were left with minor injuries, but, thankfully no one was seriously hurt.

One neighbour told MyLondon: "Have not been on site since 11.30pm of last night, at which point there was an extraction vehicle for I believe the car that had collided with the bus originally.

"[The] owner of the car was also standing by wearing a heat blanket but otherwise seemingly okay.

"As for the family home, there were lights and activity last night, but I won't have an update until around 12.30pm this afternoon. One would assume they would still be in the home as the bus did collide with the front."

A house was left damaged in the incident.

An eye-witness posted that the bus had missed his own car 'by some feet'.

A spokesperson from London Ambulance Service: "At 8.55, we were called to the Streatham area to reports of a bus in collision with a house and car.

"We sent a number of resources to the scene.

"There were three patients with minor injuries, one of whom needed to be taken to hospital by ambulance."

"Officers and London Ambulance Service attended the scene.

"No reports of any serious injuries.

"No arrests; enquiries into the circumstances remain ongoing."

Go-Ahead London, which operates the service, told MyLondon it was investigating the crash.

A spokesperson said: "As you are aware the vehicle involved was a double-deck Route 118 (Brixton to Morden) bus operated by Stockwell Garage.

"In line with established procedure, we are working with the police, driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) and Transport for London (TfL) to establish the cause."
