This hilarious video shows the moment a motorist was driving behind someone who had a full greenhouse (minus the glass) strapped to the roof of their Ford Fiesta:

The car was driving along a road in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, with the huge structure attached to the top - it looked to be double the size of the small red vehicle.

The video was posted on to Facebook yesterday and has already racked up nearly 800,000 views and 8,400 shares, with more than 4,500 likes and comments combined.

One sensible viewer wrote: "May look safe , but if they were to brake suddenly l don't think the structure of the green house would be strong enough to stay upright at that height."

Another joked: "Who needs a trolley on moving day?!" A third said: "Nowt wrong with that whats difference [sic] to it been on a pick up? he drove steady and strapped on correct with u bolts not straps."

Responding to the video, another person commented: "I think he got the wrong idea when he heard about cars trying to be more green."

According to MailOnline, what was strapped to the car was just the shell of the greenhouse, with no glass attached at the time.

It would seem people think it's perfectly fine to attach random objects to the roof of their cars and drive along as though nothing untoward is happening.

Another example came from Jennifer A. Janus Yeager, who put a paddling pool on top of her Audi before driving along while two girls were enjoying themselves inside.

Officers claimed that the 49-year-old mum had driven into town to inflate the pool at a friend's house - and asked the kids to climb in to hold it down on the way home.

Yeager was arrested on suspicion of two counts of endangering the health or life of a child and two counts of reckless conduct. She was also accused of failure to secure a passenger under the age of 16.

A spokesperson for Dixon Police Department said: "Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle on River Lane, just south of IL Route 2 where they made contact with the driver, Yeager.

"During the course of the investigation it was learned that Yeager drove into town to inflate the pool at a friend's house and had her two juvenile daughters ride inside of the empty pool to hold it down on their drive home."
