Two drug dealers are now facing jail after being filmed throwing money aside while bragging they are so rich that they could throw 'fivers in the bin'.

Shakeel Amin, 29, and Zain Mushtaq, 22, recorded themselves laughing to the camera as they counted cash in a bedroom.

At one point in the footage, Mushtaq asked Amin: "Shakeel, what do we do with fivers?"

He then chuckled: "We stash them in the bin."

The video was played as evidence to a court as the duo admitted being part of a gang supplying class A and B drugs across Nottinghamshire.

Detectives had found messages on Mushtaq's phone, which had included a drugs list and further videos bragging about designer clothing and jewellery.

Large wads of cash and packages of cannabis were also discovered.

While Amin was caught after a covert surveillance operation captured him undertaking four drug deals on one day in May 2019, Mushtaq was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply controlled drugs after attending a police station for a separate matter.

The pair pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply controlled drugs alongside four other defendants - with Ben Jones, Shamus Gulfraz, Rabeena Kausser, and Heather McCrory, also admitting the charge.

Ringleader Jamil Amin, Saad Essa and Kieran Neilson were found guilty following a six week trial, with sentencing due to take place at Derby Crown Court on 16 December.

Detective Constable Steven Fenyn, from Nottinghamshire Police, said: "This was a lengthy but ultimately worthwhile investigation, involving many complex operations, warrants and covert tactics to bring the entire group to justice.

"One phone being seized led to an entire drugs conspiracy to be exposed, and it was important to remain patient and strike at the right moment to ensure we had the evidence we needed and the ability to bring all nine members of the group into custody.

"This is a firm warning to anyone involved in drug dealing that this is taken extremely seriously and we work proactively with a variety of different teams within the force to carry out the necessary observations, action and enforcement to ensure illegal drugs are taken off Nottinghamshire's streets.

"The number of not guilty pleas certainly presented a challenge to us, but we were ultimately able to prove their involvement to the courts during the trial.

"I am very pleased with the verdict that has come out of this - it is a testament to the team and their dedication to the operation.

"We now await sentencing of all nine defendants."

After being arrested, Mushtaq's car was searched and a bag containing cannabis, cash, his ID, bank cards and a gym pass was also seized.

On the same day, plain clothes officers watched Amin go to a garage where they stored a stash - with police finding a significant amount of cocaine, MDMA, cannabis and 10 kilos of Boris Acid - a cutting agent used to bulk out cocaine.

After further warrants were conducted at other addresses, more class A and B drugs were recovered.

Detective Inspector Jon Kerry said: "Supplying and possessing illegal drugs is not only an offence in itself, but it is very often also indicative of wider and potentially more serious criminal activity.

"This is why we are so determined to investigate, take action and bring offenders to justice - and ultimately take illegal drugs of Nottinghamshire's streets and stop them causing harm to our communities, the majority of which make the county a fantastic place.

"This result is a testament to DC Fenyn, and his sheer tenacity and patience with this investigation, during which he and my team spent the best part of two years pulling together the entire case ensuring the successful arrest, charge and ultimately conviction of all nine defendants."
