Steve Thomson and wife Lenka won a £105 million EuroMillions jackpot last month but the couple say they still feel normal, despite their newfound fortune.

But while a win like that might lead most to shell out thousands on a fancy new motor or another expense, builder Steve, from Selsey, West Sussex, has decided to keep things low key, opting instead for a second-hand car.

Despite claiming the ninth-biggest EuroMillions win, they say they aren't letting it go to their heads.

Steve said: "It's a couple of years old. I haven't splashed out. I'm not going to go out and start to splash it around, it still hasn't sunk in."

Speaking to the press, dad-of-three Steve said the win had sent he and his family on an "emotional rollercoaster" but he has still gone back to work part-time.

The 42-year-old was interviewed as he loaded up his work van ahead of a shift.

The couple say they aren't letting their newfound wealth go to their heads.

He said: "It has been very stressful. I'm still not sleeping, I'm still not eating properly. It's a lot to take in.

"I feel normal and that's how I want to stay. I'm trying to finish some jobs before Christmas. I won't be able to finish all of them, but I'm doing what I can between meetings."

Since finding out they had won the enormous sum of money, shop worker Lenka has sacked in her job at a local convenience store.

However, Steve says he intends on staying in work and is currently trying to make sure he finishes as many outstanding jobs before Christmas as possible.

He said: "I am going to keep working, but whether it's doing what I do now...

"I've got too much to think about with Christmas and family now. But of course I have got to finish the jobs I have got on.

"I said I am going to do the jobs, so I've got to, I can't go back on my word."

Builder Steve recently bought a second-hand car with his winnings.

Their main plan for the couple is to move out of their £120,000, three-bedroom house and into somewhere bigger so that their sons, aged 10 and 15, as well as their eight-year-old daughter, can each have their own bedrooms.

With everything that has gone on recently, Steve and Lenka haven't even managed to get Christmas sorted yet.

Steve said: "We haven't had a chance to buy any presents yet. My main priority is Christmas, then trying to find somewhere to live. And then my three main commitments are family, friends, community - that's it.

"Once they're happy, I can enjoy it."
