It's easy to feel that our local councils aren't too bothered about us sometimes, particularly if they leave our bins full of used bottles and cans that remain uncollected for weeks.
But it's rare for them to tell you directly that they just don't like you, as one council in Doncaster, South Yorkshire did to a young mum.

Mum-of-one Antonia Wright was shocked to find the words 'I hate Miss Antonia Wright' placed above her address on a letter sent to her by Doncaster Council on 20 October.
"I still can't quite believe it," the 19-year-old said. "I have never even spoken to this person at the council before. All I can think is they have been joking around in the office and they mistakenly left it on the letter."

At first Antonia didn't realise the letter was from the council as she saw her name and address through the envelope's plastic window.
When Antonia complained to the council, they told her that the mistake came from an employee error, saying the letter should have said 'I have written to Miss Antonia Wright' instead.
In the address line of the letter? Yeah, totally believe you there.

Doncaster Council are now investigating the incident further, after an unhappy Antonia replied by sending in a further complaint.
"It is just unacceptable," she said. "This could have been so much worse. They could have mistakenly sent it to someone who is not very well or has mental health problems.
"It is not nice for someone to be told they are hated."
Antonia was so miffed by the letter that she shared it on her Facebook page, saying: "Well, Doncaster Council seem to have got a bit gobby. Never in all my life have I received a letter so rude.

In a statement, Simon Wiles, Director of Finances and Corporate Services for Doncaster Council, denounced the letter, calling it 'unacceptable'.

"This is not how this council operates and we apologise unreservedly to Miss Wright," Mr Wiles said. "We are immediately looking into how this happened and why we failed in this instance and will take any action required.
"We are very sorry for the distress this has caused our resident and we have already apologised personally to Miss Wright and her family."
