Farage Says That £350million Pledge To Fund NHS Was 'A Mistake'

Farage Says That £350million Pledge To Fund NHS Was 'A Mistake'

Well... that was a quick turnaround.

So, as your Facebook newsfeed has definitely told you already, Britain has voted to LEAVE the EU.

A lot of people are shocked, a lot of your friends are suddenly political experts, and to be honest a lot of people just want to see cat videos on their social media again.

However, this particular video is doing the rounds (especially through Remain voters) as Farage appeared on Good Morning Britain earlier and dropped this bombshell.

One of the cornerstones of the Brexit campaign was actually a bit of a massive fucking lie.

During the last few months, official Leave campaign adverts had exclaimed: 'Let's give our NHS the £350 million the EU takes every week' and 'We send the EU £350 million a week, let's fund our NHS instead'.

When asked about it this morning by presenter, Susanna Reid, Farage said he 'couldn't guarantee it'.

Wait, what?!

Let me refresh your memory in regards to these adverts...

Reid was as shocked as the rest of us, exclaiming: "That's why many people have voted! You're saying after 17 million people have voted for Leave - and that [advert] was a huge part of the propaganda!

"You're now saying that's a mistake?!"

Farage hit back with: "It wasn't one of my adverts. I would never have made that claim. That was one of the mistakes I think that the Leave campaign made."

Hmm.

He did end by saying that the NHS might still be better off: "We have a 10 billion a year, £34 million a day featherbed. That is going to be free money we can spend on the NHS or schools or whatever it is."

Well, I don't know about you but I feel like that's a little bit of a cop out.
