Plans are already being made for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and most significantly, everyone will get a four-day bank holiday weekend.

The move is to mark Her Majesty's 70th year as monarch. This will be the first time any British sovereign has reached their seventh decade.

Here she is.

'And when will it be?' I hear you ask.

Well, the May bank holiday weekend will be moved to Thursday 2 June with an additional bank holiday on 3 June to celebrate the historical occasion.

So this isn't an extra day, it's just a day being moved to what could be described as a more suitable spot in the calendar.

Let's face it, we all deserve it and I suppose Liz does as well for 70 years of graft.

The government has teased that we can expect a schedule of events to recognise the milestone, and to 'reflect on the monarch's reign, and her impact on the UK and the world since 1952'.

Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden said that the 'once-in-a-generation show' will form part of an extensive programme of events showcasing the best of 'British ceremonial splendour and pageantry with cutting edge artistic and technological displays'.

Which otherwise translates to four days' worth of pints.

The plans are being arranged by The Royal Household and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.

Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden said: "Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee will be a truly historic moment - and one that deserves a celebration to remember.

"We can all look forward to a special, four-day Jubilee weekend, when we will put on a spectacular, once-in-a-generation show that mixes the best of British ceremonial splendour with cutting edge art and technology.

"It will bring the entire nation and the Commonwealth together in a fitting tribute to Her Majesty's reign."

According to Sky News, it won't only be Queenie herself that is celebrated because a Platinum Jubilee medal will be produced for people working in public service.

This includes representatives of the Armed Forces, the emergency services and the prison service.

This is a tradition that goes back to the time when Queen Victoria was on the throne and an official medal was designed to mark her 50th year in the role.

Let's hope the pubs are back open for 2 June 2022 then, shall we?
