If you're out and about on Black Friday trying to bag yourself a deal, here's the only one that you need to make sure you cash in on.

Greene King is offering a free pint to any Black Friday bargain hunter who can produce a receipt proving they've been shopping.

After wading through the ravenous crowds and getting into a scrap over a half price telly, what better way to unwind than a swift one in the pub?

Well, if you find yourself in the vicinity of any of Greene King's 1,000+ pubs around the UK, show the bar staff your receipt and they'll offer you either a pint of Guinness, a gin and tonic, a Jack Daniels and Coke, or a plain old Coca-Cola for designated drivers and non-drinkers.

On top of that, there are also special deals available on Greene King gift cards, for those who enjoy a Christmas tipple.

If you get a £50 e-voucher between today and Friday, you'll get a bonus £10 top-up.

The good news is, they'll take digital receipts, as well. That means that you can sit in the pub shopping on your phone, then show them the confirmation and get a free jar.

You won't even have to punch a complete stranger in the face and wrestle electronic goods from their unconscious grasp, imagine that!

Greene King's Chief Commercial Officer Phil Thomas, said: "Black Friday has become one of the biggest shopping days of the year and on a day that's all about spending we thought we'd buck the trend and offer a free drink for thirsty shoppers to enjoy.

"For the more digitally savvy out there, you can complete your Christmas shopping from the comfort of your local pub using your mobile or laptop, and get a free drink for your hard work, as we'll accept digital receipts too!"

The offer will be available at more than 1,000 pubs across England, Scotland and Wales. That includes Greene King, Hungry Horse and Flaming Grill pubs.

Oh, and it's worth pointing out that Greene King and Coca-Cola recently announced that - for the tenth year running - they'll be offering a free soft drink to any designated drivers over the festive period.

Just show them your car keys when buying a soft drink, including non-alcoholic beer, and they'll give you a voucher for the next one on them. This offer is also available in Greene King, Hungry Horse and Flaming Grill venues, as well as Chef & Brewer and Farmhouse Inn pubs.

Of that promotion, Thomas said: "As a leading pub company, we have an important role to play in helping to promote responsible drinking and we have given away around a quarter of a million free Coca-Cola products over the past decade as part of the Designated Driver campaign."

Paul Robertson, Associate Director, On-Premise at Coca-Cola European Partners GB, added: "We'd like to thank Greene King for partnering with us for the last 10 years on the Designated Driver campaign and continuing to evolve the platform to ensure it remains relevant to today's consumers.

"Greene King should be applauded for its continued leadership in helping to promote responsible drinking and embracing the role soft drinks can play across its estate, especially on the lead up to Christmas. Here's to another 10 years of partnership."
