Heavy Rain And Thunder Could Hit UK Tomorrow

Heavy Rain And Thunder Could Hit UK Tomorrow

Just as we were all getting used to the heat, too

Thunder showers and heavy rain could hit the UK tomorrow, following the rare bout of sunny weather we've been having recently. I knew it was too good to be true to expect an actual summer.

The UK has been sweltering for the past few weeks with temperatures hitting 30C across the country.

However, the hot weather has led to a hosepipe ban in Northern Ireland with other parts of the country being warned to conserve water, so maybe the forecast downpours are a good thing, eh?

Rain will hit mainly in the south of the UK, according to the Met Office, with parts of the south west already experiencing some rainfall today. Those living in south Wales and Scotland might also get a bit of rain.

The Met Office has also warned that play may be interrupted at Wimbledon tomorrow, due to heavy rain or thundery showers. Well, it wouldn't be Wimbledon without some rain, would it?

Even with the forecast rainfall, the Met Office still reckons the warm temperatures will stick around, with high 20s expected.

The rain is set to clear by the weekend, so you might not need to cancel your barbeque for the England game, with the heatwave definitely back on track and London expected to hit 31-32C.

Met Office forecaster Becky Mitchell told the Sun Online: "Tomorrow many places will still be warm and sunny, but with a slightly fresher feel in the north west.

"There is a risk of rain with some heavy and thundery showers in southern England tomorrow afternoon and into the evening, while it remains largely dry elsewhere.

"Into the weekend, an area of high pressure will move in bringing dry weather with sunshine for most places.

"There could be some cloudy patches in northern and north western areas but otherwise it will be clear.

"On Saturday the highest temperature could be 31C or higher in the London area."

Ideal beer garden weather if you ask me.
