Krispy Kreme Giving Free Doughnuts To People Who Had Lockdown Birthdays

No matter what you planned or how noble your mates' intentions were, birthdays just haven't been the same during lockdown - I think I speak for all of us when I say 'let's never speak of Zoom quizzes again'.

Still, for those of us still mourning the birthday bash that might have been, Krispy Kreme has come up wit the goods - or at least, for those of us whose birthdays land between 23 March and 3 July.

To celebrate the doughnut giant's 83rd birthday, everyone whose birthday happened to fall during those specific lockdown dates can get a free Original Glazed

That will be about 22 million people, BTW.

Bosses at Krispy Kreme have said that one in 10 people didn't bother celebrating their birthday this year, probably just electing to write off 2020 instead.

The offer is available all week, with a minimum purchase value of £1.55, so from today (13 July) until 19 July, all you have to do is show a member of Krispy Kreme staff that your birthday lands between the above dates.

Richard Cheshire, Krispy Kreme UK and Ireland CEO, said: "We started making our iconic Original Glazed doughnut from the USA in 1937.

"Ever since, we've always been committed to making people smile. For our birthday this year, we want to bring smiles to the millions of UK doughnut fans who feel like they missed out on celebrations this year by offering the joy of an Original Glazed treat on us!"

It's also worth pointing out that the deal isn't available at stores in Ireland or branches of Selfridges, Bentalls, Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Asda, Moto, Universities, Welcome Break, Roadchef, Shell, EuroGarages or Center Parcs - nor does it include Krispy Kreme mobile events, Krispy Kreme Occasions or online orders.

Don't forget though, it's only available this week, so get a move on and get to your local doughnut store.
