Lidl Is Selling A Bargain £4.99 LED Mosquito Plug This Summer
A cheap mosquito plug, you say? Where do I sign?!? Over at Lidl, it turns out, as the discount supermarket is offering such a device at the bargain price of £4.99.
I mean, hot weather and sunny trips abroad are freakin' great, especially when the sun begins to go down and it's still warm enough to enjoy a cold beer and a plate of pasta in the fading light. Does life get any better?
But then the mosquitos come. They arrive in their masses and RUIN ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING.
That faint buzzing sound alone is enough to rile anyone, but then you suddenly spot one on your forearm and you realise the war has begun for the night, angrily swatting it away while muttering expletives under your breath - a frustrating routine that continues for the next several minutes.
It's then only a matter of time before you're hit. As you reach down to mindlessly give your ankle a quick scratch, it dawns on you that it's happened: you've been bitten, and now you'll be able to think of nothing but that bite for the next two days.
There are, of course, products that can help you - although I can speak from experience in saying that even the most fastidious of deet applications will leave a patch of skin uncovered somewhere.

Instead, you should maybe try Lidl's LED Mosquito Plug, which not only keeps the bugs away from you, but also lures them in for the kill.
With a 'Blue UVA light' that 'lures mosquitos into a shielded electric grid', the plug claims to effectively deter mosquitos without chemicals.
With a range of 20 square metres, the plug features an on/off switch and 'twilight sensor', and has a power consumption of 0.36w. The protective grate also makes it safe for humans and pets.
It costs just £4.99 - although you couldn't put a price on getting rid of pesky mozzies, if you ask me - making it one of the more affordable holiday essentials for you to remember.
You can't buy them online, so if you're after one you'll have to go and track one down in store - though I'd be fast if I were you; a lot of people hate mosquitos out there.
You could plug one in while you sleep to fend off any unwelcome visitors while you sleep, or just have it switched on in the evening to stop the house or apartment becoming overrun by a mosquito invasion.
Or, of course, you'll forget to turn it on and end up waking up to a dot-to-dot of bites on your skin, just like the rest of us. Happy holidays!
