A toddler who fell five floors from a hotel balcony is making a 'miracle recovery' at home following the incident.

Neil Shanahan, two, fell to the first floor of the Strand Hotel in Limerick, Republic of Ireland on July 2, from its sixth-floor rooftop balcony, the Irish Mirror reports.

The little lad's mother spoke for the first time since the dramatic fall.

"I believe it was a miracle... I really do," Martina Shanahan said. "He spent 70 hours in a critical condition, I'm so delighted he's home."

The two-year-old, who hasn't got a mark on him, has been nicknamed miracle boy following the incident.

"It's just unconscionable, and it's just so overwhelming, from start to finish," she added.

The mother-of-three thanked the American nurse who 'breathed life back into him' when she resuscitated him.

"She is my angel. We firmly believe she saved him," she added.

Martina said she met the woman while in Dublin.

"We wanted to say thank you to her," she explained.

The little lad is said to be making a safe and stable recovery.
