A man has been detained after police were called to a terrorist related incident on London Bridge this afternoon, with a number of people confirmed injured.
It appears that a number of people were stabbed, with police responding and then shooting the male suspect, before detaining him.
A tweet from the Met Police confirmed that emergency services attended the incident. The force had earlier stated that they were dealing with the 'early stages of an incident' and that people should follow directions from police officers at the scene.
A BBC reporter said that two shots were heard - they are believed to have been fired by police.
In images from the scene, a large lorry can be seen blocking the bridge, with Scotland Yard confirming that the 'early stages of an incident' is being dealt with.
