A controlled explosion has taken place in Fallowfield, according to reports on social media.
Residents took to Twitter to report 'loud explosions' in the area, as well as photographs of armed police.

Peter Gallagher, 44, was in a house nearby when he heard the bang. He told LADbible: "I was in my front room watching the television when I heard what sounded like a car crash.
"Everyone came out on to the street and saw the police arriving. I didn't see it happen but people are saying a door has been blown off."

Greater Manchester Police have not yet made an official comment.
According to the Manchester Evening News, armed officers were carrying out a raid at a property in the area.
