Looks like the tension of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepping back from their royal duties has reached fever point, as their waxwork models have now been removed from the Royal Family set at Madame Tussauds.

I KNOW.

Steve Davies, General Manager at Madame Tussauds London, said: "Alongside the rest of the world we are reacting to the surprising news that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be stepping back as senior Royals.

"From today, Meghan and Harry's figures will no longer appear in our Royal Family set.

"As two of our most popular and well-loved figures, they will of course remain an important feature at Madame Tussauds London as we watch to see what the next chapter holds for the them."

The couple announced their decision yesterday, releasing a statement on their joint Instagram account about how they had chosen to 'make a transition' and stand down as senior members of the Royal Family, saying: "After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution.

"We intend to step back as 'senior' members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen.

"It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment."

They explained that moving forward, they planned to 'balance' their time between the United Kingdom and North America - in turn enabling them to raise their son 'with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born,' while also providing their family with 'the space to focus on the next chapter'.

An official statement from the Queen's office claimed that discussions with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were at an 'early stage' and involved 'complicated issues'.

It read: "Discussions with The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are at an early stage.

"We understand their desire to take a different approach, but these are complicated issues that will take time to work through."
