A man has been killed in a daylight shooting in south-east London, according to the Metropolitan Police.
Officers were called to the scene following reports of suspicious activity in Lewisham at 3.45pm earlier today.
Shots were subsequently heard and firearms officers were also called along with the London Ambulance Service.
A press release from the Met Police said: "A man in his 20s was found with gunshot wounds. He died at the scene at 15:50hrs. Police remain at the scene - there have been no arrests at this stage and enquiries in to the circumstances continue.

Posting pictures on to Twitter London resident, Andrew Chang, wrote: "Metropolitan Police and Ambulance crews are attending a fatal shooting on Venner Road, Sydenham, outside Lloyds Bank at 4pm today. Best avoid the area whilst investigations continue."
He later added: "Metropolitan Police continue to investigate a fatal shooting in Venner Road, Sydenham. Witnesses report a car chase which ended outside Lloyds Bank. A gun was drawn by one of the people involved in the car chase before a single shot was fired."

Responding to comments, Mr Chang continued: "I'm only going by the police chase I saw and witness accounts of the incident. Unfortunately there was a fatality. Witnesses said that passers-by attempted resuscitation. Ambulance crews attended scene but were not successful."
A fellow resident replied to the tweet saying: "This is awful, just round the corner from my home." Another one commented: "I live behind Venner Road and I think I heard the gunshot. I'm actually scared now."
The Mirror reported that a London Ambulance spokesperson said: "We were called at 3:42pm today (8 September) to reports of an incident on Venner Road, Penge.

"We sent an incident response officer, an advanced paramedic, two medics in cars and an ambulance crew to the scene. Sadly, despite the efforts of medics, a man died at the scene."
