A man has admitted to having sex with a plastic cone in a railway station, Wigan Today reports.
Trevor Smith, 38, appeared before magistrates to plead guilty to outraging public decency, following a drunken incident involving a cleaning cone at Wigan North Western railway station.
He explained that he'd been drinking, and had also taken a powder given to him by friends that he thought was cocaine - although it turned out not to be a drug at all.
The court heard how Smith, from St Helens, was spotted by a Virgin Trains team leader sitting in a lift at the station with his trousers and underwear down by his ankles. In his lap he had a cleaning cone, which he was 'thrusting his hips at'.

After clocking Smith at around 9.30pm on 14 April, the station worker opened the door to the lift and found Smith 'appearing to have sex' with the cone.
He contacted British Transport Police, who sent an officer.
The officer entered the lift and found Smith still thrusting, though now also on top of the cone.
Smith eventually realised he was being watched, and began pulling his trousers back up while being helped to his feet by the officer - who could see powder around his lower face and what appeared to more drugs on the floor.

Smith was arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled class A drug, but when it transpired that the powder wasn't a drug at all he was de-arrested.
However, Smith was later reported for outraging public decency.
The court heard how he had been with friends that day, drinking heavily and watching football, and that he also suffered from diabetes and depression.
Smith explained how his friends noticed he was getting down, and gave him a white powder, which he believed to be cocaine at the time.

He recalled that he was then heading home on the train when he entered the lift thinking he was in a locked room. However, he said that was all he could remember.
Smith was told by the officer how his actions had impacted on witnesses, and that children could have seen what he was doing.
Wigan Magistrates' Court heard that Smith was extremely apologetic about what happened.
It was heard that he has previous convictions for outraging public decency.

Smith pleaded guilty to outraging public decency and was remanded on unconditional bail ahead of sentencing later this month.
