A mum who spends £4,000 ($5,100) on presents for her three children at Christmas has said she's not bothered about what others think - reminding everyone that they're entitled to their opinions, but that she's allowed to spend her money as she pleases.

Stacey Rosewarne, 38, plans to buy 100 gifts for her kids this year, and estimates this will end up costing her a total of £4,000 by the time the big day rolls around.

Stacey, a nurse from Taunton in Somerset, will lavish kids Amber, 13, Jacob, seven, and Ebony, six, with pricey presents like Nike trainers, GHD straighteners, North Face coats, Adidas tracksuits and gold chains.

Speaking to The Sun, Stacey said: "I am a bit worried about my children not being able to fit the presents in their bedrooms, but we usually have a clear-out before Christmas to help."

Despite the fact her sister thinks she goes 'over the top' and her partner Darren says she's 'spoilt', Stacey stands by her generosity, which she said stems from her own childhood - when her mum would work hard to give her family a memorable Christmas.

Stacey continued: "My mum worked so hard and overcompensated at Christmas time because we didn't see her as much.

"Christmas was the only time of year that she would get to properly spend time with us."

Stacey has also been quick to defend herself against the haters, adding: "Everyone's entitled to their own opinions, but surely as I earn my own money, I'm allowed to spend it as I please.

"I try to give my children everything I saw my mum struggle to get me and my sister.

"For me, it's all about watching my children open their gifts and seeing their reaction."

Stacey plans to buy 100 gifts for her kids this year.

Earlier this year, Stacey admitted she'd started shopping for this year's batch of presents on Boxing Day 2018 - and had already spent £700 by September.

She explained that she uses a Christmas saving scheme, stashing some money away each month.

She said at the time: "I'm obsessed with Christmas and I talk about it all the time, I love going round the shops to get my Christmas fix.

"As soon as my birthday in June is over I'm all about Christmas - if I could put my tree up now I would."

Stacey stores the stash under the bed in the spare room of her three-bedroom house.

She added: "One time I drove around with a big sloth teddy in the boot for weeks because there was nowhere to hide it in the house.

"Sometimes I've accidentally bought the same thing twice and I don't know about it until I get round to wrapping them all up.

"Ebony recently went into the spare room and picked up a toy that was out and asked what it was - I'm definitely going to have to keep wrapping them up so this doesn't happen again!"
