Have your little ones ever wondered what St Nick and his band of intrepid reindeer get up to when they're dropping off their gifts? Well, wonder no more, because there's an app that will let you and your kids video Santa's trusty reindeer as they tuck into the plateful of carrots you left out.

Yes, the festive folks over at McDonald's have brought back their Reindeer Ready Live app so you can watch Rudolph chowing down on the tasty treats.

The app was originally launched last year, but proved to be such a massive hit with people that they decided to launch it again.

Once you are on the site, all you have to do is take a photo from somewhere in your home - or outside - the kitchen, around the tree, or in the living room, and off you go.

Then, once you have your setting, you just press play and watch your own personalised Christmas scene unfold. Cute, no?

Now, while this is a fairly simple way for families to get into the festive spirit, one dad in Merseyside went a little too far when he bought an inflatable Santa Clause the size of his own house.

Obviously, this wasn't his intention, it was actually a fairly frightening example of how online shopping can go horribly wrong.

Nightclub owner Matty James had his neighbours in hysterics when the supposed '8ft' Santa arrived, only for it to turn out to be a 25ft blow-up beast that towers over his home.

Speaking about the amusing gaffe, he said: "I ordered it a month ago off eBay but didn't realise it would be massive or as high as my house.

"I thought it would be about 8ft tall but only realised it was much bigger than that when I laid it all out.

"I remember thinking it looked weird and then all of a sudden, once I started putting the air in it, it kept growing and growing. I did wonder if it was ever going to stop.

"I'm known in the street for doing wacky things and when the neighbours came out they were all laughing their heads off, everyone was in hysterics."
