It looks like Prince Harry's stag do is set to be far more tame than any of us assumed.

US Weekly claims that with his brother Prince William likely taking charge of best man duties it's likely to be a low-key affair.

"Don't expect anything wild," a source told them about the upcoming celebration.

The source added: "Harry has several close guy friends, but there's no way he would ask anyone but William to take on the top job."

Although it's possible that William could miss out on being the 'best man' due to a technicality.

British and European royalty expert, Marlene Koenig has told Town and Country there is no such thing as a 'best man' at a Royal wedding: "The best man or best men are officially called supporters. William will probably be Harry's supporter."

The Prince of Wales stuck with that rule and named his brother Prince Andrew to be his supporter when he married Diana in 1981.

Interestingly, Prince William broke protocol in 2011 and actually named Harry as his best man and Clarence House confirmed the decision. The Daily Mail reported that Harry joked he would refuse to participate in anything to do with wedding unless he was awarded the title.

However, it's unclear whether Prince Harry will stick to the rules on this one or go down his older brother's route.

While the Duke of Cambridge was delighted for Harry's engagement announcement, he was happy for a very specific reason, telling an ITV reporter: "I'm very excited. Delighted for them both. Wishing them all the happiness in this exciting time.

"And for me personally, I hope it means he stays out of my fridge and will stop him scrounging my food which he's done for the last few years."

William's wife Kate added: "William and I are absolutely thrilled. It's such exciting news. It's a really happy time for any couple and we wish them all the best and hope they enjoy this happy moment."

Over 36,000 people have RSVPed Harry's 'stag do' on Facebook following the announcement he will wed former Suits actor Meghan Markle.
