Sometimes when you're feeling under the weather you can get a bit dramatic, moaning you could literally eat a horse because the hunger is so real, or legit questioning if you can die from a hangover.

But the illness currently doing the rounds kind of sounds like people aren't just being drama queens - it sounds properly nasty. We're talking, of course, about the deadly Aussie flu, which has continued to spread across the UK in what's felt like no time whatsoever.

Experts are calling this one of the worst flu seasons in 50 years, and according to a map created by flusurvey.org.uk, the deadly H3N2 strain has now spread to almost every part of the country, with dozens of new cases reported in the last 24 hours.

The map, which relies on patients self-reporting, shows the amount of influenza-like illness reported around the UK right now, showing a gradient from 'no reported' cases (blue) to a 'very high' number of cases (red).

The last few places to remain unaffected include Dorchester, the Brecon Beacons area, Telford, Dartford and, miraculously, the City of London.

According to data from Public Health England, over 1,500 people were affected by the strain in the space of a week in England and Wales, with 17 even being admitted to intensive care.

"My eyes felt like someone had them in a vice," 51-year-old Mark Wilde told the Mirror, having fallen ill with the flu on New Year's Eve. "I had no energy, wasn't eating and every muscle hurt.

"I think I'm coming out the other end but Clare had her worst night last night.

"It's scary how ill you feel and the fever keeps you awake at all hours."

His fiancee, Clare Roberts, was also struck down.

"We couldn't move, let alone go to work, because we were so poorly but I certainly wouldn't of attempted to go to work and spread this further," she said.

"Regular checks of your temperature is something we were doing throughout the day. This meant we were alternating between paracetamol or Lemsip then ibuprofen."

The flu's even reached the fairly undefeatable Conor McGregor. The MMA star took to his Instagram account to tell fans that he and his family had been left bed bound after getting the illness - with some of his family so bad they even had to go to hospital.

It didn't take him long to fight back, though, and he's since posted a photo showing he's back in the gym training. Thank God for that, eh? We know you were probably all losing sleep over that one.
