It'd be good to think that, on the whole, people are good - that they're kind and full of compassion and empathy for others. But then, as this video proves, there are plenty of people out there willing to confound that theory.
The frightening footage was caught on 74-year-old Tim Edwards' dashcam and shows the luxury Bentley Continental come speeding towards the vehicle before careering into it and sending the pair flying.

The Bentley driver, 46-year-old Richard Plum, fled the scene but was later tracked down by police. He later pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and failing to stop after a road accident and was jailed for 14 months, with a driving ban of four years and seven months.
