Lingerie model Rhian Sugden announced earlier today that she and her husband would be creating a new couple's OnlyFans account - only for fans to be let down when they later realised today is April Fool's Day.

Sugden, who has more than 420,000 followers on Twitter and some 427,000 over on Instagram, took to social media this morning to reveal the big news, sharing a photo of herself with husband Oliver Mellor, writing: "Setting up our couples onlyfans page today... #WFH #NeedsMust."

She added a smug sideways glance emoji, hinting that perhaps she wasn't entirely serious - something that soon dawned on fans when they remembered what the date is.

One person commented: "Good one, you almost got me."

Another said: "Possibly the best #AprilFools I've seen so far!"

A third added: "Wonder what date it is lololol."

Former glamour model Sugden told LADbible the prank was her way of trying to 'cheer people up', and that she decided to not even let Oliver in on the joke.

She said: "I didn't tell Oliver, I just decided to post it. I know April Fools isn't at the front of everyone's minds right now, but I thought it would be a bit of fun. Mostly when Oliver found out.

"Couples stuff isn't on my radar though. He thought it was really funny when he found out. He's been getting a lot of messages to be fair, mostly from men, so he's buzzing.

"I don't think he'd ever consider doing it, but never say never. TV work is a bit up and down, isn't it?

"I just wanted to cheer people up and try and raise a smile because it's a tough time for some people.

"I've been wandering round the house looking for things to decorate. I spent £100 on the Cadbury's website the other day. I've basically bought all of Easter. A massive Creme Egg. A big hamper. Loads of Mini Eggs.

"Apart from that, we're quite keen to make a baby, so Oliver's definitely not complaining!'

Sugden told LADbible her own OnlyFans account had been busier than ever during the lockdown.

She said: "OnlyFans definitely hasn't taken a dip yet.

"I suppose you'll see even more people doing it if they're trapped at home and bored. Fair play to them."
