Serial Killer Fears Grow In Bristol After Four Bodies Found In City's Waters

Over the last four months, four bodies have been found in Bristol's waterways. However, police have confirmed that they are not treating any of the deaths as suspicious.

This has not calmed fears on social media of a serial killer, with many describing it as the work of the 'Bristol Pusher'.

The Mirror reports that the four male corpses were recovered from Bristol's floating Harbour and the River Avon. The most recent of which was discovered yesterday afternoon. The identity of the latest person whose body was recovered has not yet been identified.

A police spokesperson said they all seem to be 'tragic accidents'.

The police announced on Facebook that the body was found and the status has attracted hundreds of comments.

It reads: "Our dive team has recovered a man's body from the Floating Harbour near Welsh Back in Bristol this afternoon.

"While it's too early for any formal identification, we are keeping the family of missing man Jason Gurgul fully updated.'

Lizzie Steele wrote: "I think it's about time Avon and Somerset constabulary addressed the public's concerns. Without wanting to upset any of the families involved, it has surely gone past the point of being a 'coincidence' now with four deaths in the last few months?

"I think at the very least they need to release a statement advising young men to stay in groups on nights out and do not wander off alone! Very sad for everyone involved."

Gary Rodge Trowbridge added: "Bristol city council and the police can spend millions to catch motorists driving in the bus lane or going two mph over speed limit so what's stopping you putting up cctv around the docks to catch whomever is causing the deaths of all these young men!!!"

Lavina Smith said: "There are two many coincidences here. Why isn't anyone investigating the possibility that this is a serial crime attack in Bristol and Bath?"

Others took to Twitter with the hashtag #BristolPusher.

The police have said that their position is the same as it was back in March when speculation was first rife. They said: "There is nothing to suggest that any of the deaths are linked or suspicious.

"They appear to have been tragic accidents. We are always willing to receive new information and intelligence, which is not based on speculation.

"We are continuing to work with the coroner on the incidents which are being treated as non-suspicious sudden deaths."
