A shocking video shows the moment a man fell from a roof while trying to get away from the police. You can see footage of the incident here:

West Midlands Police visited a property in Walsall following a tip-off and discovered 70 cannabis plants.

While they were conducting the search, a man who had been inside the property climbed out onto the roof.

In the clip, which has been shared on social media, the unidentified man can be seen standing on the roof of the house while police are gathered around on the ground below.

But the man comes a cropper when he accidentally slips from the roof - dislodging a couple of roof tiles and letting out an almighty yelp in the process.

Gravity does its thing - within seconds, the man hits the ground, narrowly missing a police officer who dodges out of the way.

After the bloke hits the deck, one cop approaches him and can be heard to tell him to 'stay down'.

As the camera panned away from the man, a police van and six officers could be seen in the street.

Police have said the man was taken to hospital where he was treated for his injuries which are 'not believed to be life-threatening'.

The man has since been arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and will be questioned by police when he's medically fit.

A spokesperson from West Midlands Police told LADbible: "We acted on intelligence and discovered around 70 cannabis plants at an address in High Street, Bloxwich, just after 11.30am (22 July).

"During a search of the property a man inside the premises climbed onto the roof and fell. He has been taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.
