Social media users have been left feeling a bit baffled by a one-bedroom rental flat in Liverpool, which for some reason comes with 'half a bath'.

Nope, that's not a 'half-bathroom' - a common estate agent term for a bathroom that just has a loo and a sink, but no washing facilities - but literally half a bathtub.

The first floor flat is located in an 'exclusive gated community' called Vale Lodge, and costs £525 a month to rent.

Inside there's a modern kitchen with washing machine and 'brand new hob/oven', a spacious lounge and carpets fitted throughout.

However, the 'refitted bathroom' is where things require a bit of a second glance, as alongside a 'large-walk-in shower' lies what's been described by agents as a dinky '3/4 bath'.

A social media user called Alicia - who has the Twitter handle @_altx- spotted the strange feature and shared a photo of the online listing, tweeting: "Why has this flat got literally half a f***in' bath?"

The tweet soon went viral, racking up more than 10,000 retweets as others shared the post in disbelief - many joking that it looked more like a 'big sink' than a bathtub, while others suggested it was maybe a bidet.

One person commented: "Do you reckon when they built the shower and realised how small the bath [was], they said it will be fine no one will notice?"

Another user wrote: "That design makes no sense, why not just put a bath with a shower in that space instead!"

A third said: "That isn't half a bath, it's a Smurf bath."

Summing things up adequately, a fourth added: "Could just get my foot in that."

Alicia did a bit of digging to make sure her eyes weren't deceiving her, and confirmed in a follow-up tweet that the bizarre container is, indeed, a bath.

"After all of the bidet comments I had to go an check and it genuinely [is] a tiny bath. I cba," she said, attaching a screenshot of the listing on OpenRent.

The listing says: "Complete with modern kitchen including washing machine and brand new hob/oven, refitted bathroom with large walk-in corner shower, 3/4 bath, spacious lounge with carpets fitted throughout."
