Christmas has come early for booze lovers, the price of a one litre bottle of Jack Daniel's whiskey has plunged in price below £20 aka the cheapest it's been throughout all of 2018.

Tesco has reduced the price of the Tennessee whiskey from £32 to £18 - that's a £14 discount on one of the favourite drinks around the festive period, perfect for anyone that may have already over-indulged with the spending this year.

This is not the only way Tesco is getting on the offensive leading up to Christmas, along with the booze it has reduced other Christmas necessities.

No Christmas dinner is complete without a selection of veg, including sprouts (no arguments), and Tesco is on top of it - customers can pick up 1kg pack of carrots, 2.5kg pack of white potatoes, cauliflower, 500g parsnips and 500g of sprouts for 29p each.

Sounds good, but it seems Aldi are trying to get one up in the countdown to Christmas as it's offering a variety of veg in its Super Six deal - these include Brussels sprouts, parsnips, swede, cabbage, carrots and white potatoes all for 28p.

So, no excuse to not eat your veggies this festive season while you're tucking away the turkey and roast potatoes.

Aldi has pretty much been on top form in the lead up to the big day - Christmas dinner wraps and even that dinner staple, pigs in blankets.

Except Aldi isn't just doing any regular chipolata sausage - it's offering foot-long pigs in blankets.

Well, if you you can't over-indulge over the festive period when can you? Tuck in.
