The winner of the UK's Messiest Car has been announced and let me tell you they faced some stiff competition from fellow untidy motorists.

Euro Car Parts launched a competition to find the owner of the UK's most untidy motor offering up a £200 car cleaning product as a, much needed, prize.

The company pulled in more than 200 entrants from across the UK but it was 32-year-old Louise Duffy who took the unenviable title.

Louise, from Manchester, can't take all the credit for her untidy car though, because judging by the photos she submitted it seems as though her kids have helped out.

She said: "I am delighted beyond belief! Whilst some people might not be happy to claim this title, I certainly am.

"'The car gets so messy because of my happy kids, who apparently know where everything is, which makes for lots of chaos!

"I am absolutely thrilled to win the prize, and my boys will love to clean out the car with our new goodies."

Other notable entries, include the unnamed husband of Elizabeth Barton from Wigan.

Elizabeth says she refuses to set foot in her husband's filthy car and hasn't been inside it for four years. She's hoping seeing himself in second place will give him a reason to finally spruce up his interiors.

And he wasn't the only husband who had been put forward by his wife, as Kazzy Minton submitted her other-half and his messy Citroen DS3.

Then there's Eddie Eames, 32, with his coffee-cup strewn car which makes it impossible for anyone to sit in the passenger seat.

It's time to take a trip to the recycling centre, Eddie - you need to let these cups go.

While Ashley Godfrey's car looks like it's doing double duty as the spare room; crammed full of boxes, shoes and clothing that really has no need to be inside a car.

How can you even see out that back window, Ash?

Helen Robinson, Corporate Communications Director at Euro Car Parts, said: "Cleaning out your car can often fall to the bottom of your list of jobs, and we're sure that for many, these images may be a familiar sight!

"Giving your car a clean from time to time means you and your passengers will have a safer and more pleasant driving experience. We recommend cleaning the inside of your car fairly regularly, especially now that many vehicles aren't being used as often, as unpleasant smells may build up.

"We hope that the cleaning bundle helps Louise keep her car in sparkling condition from now on!"
