Samia Shahid, a British woman who died in an alleged 'honour' killing, sent a heart-breaking text to a friend just hours before she was killed.

The 28-year-old beautician from Bradford was killed while on a trip to Pakistan to visit family. Her family initially claimed she had died of a heart attack but an autopsy showed she had been strangled and raped.

The DNA found on Samia's body was a 'perfect match' for her ex-husband Muhammad Shakeel.

Muhammad appeared in court alongside Samia's dad, Mohammed Shahid. Muhammed has confessed to the crime, reports the Independent.

It's alleged Muhammad and Mohammed killed Samia, who had remarried, because they refused to accept her divorce and believed she had 'dishonoured Muhammed and his family'.

Samia was told her father was seriously ill so she rushed out to see him. However, it seems as though she had a sense of what may happen as she took some safety measures, such as handing her passport and return tickets to a friend in Pakistan to look after during her stay.

Hours before boarding the plane, Samia sent a text to a friend, which read: "Pray I come bk alive on 21jul my psycho cuzzan u see", which is a reference to her ex-husband, who was also her cousin.
