A car has been spotted driving the wrong way down the motorway at 100mph.
The incident was captured on the dashboard camera of another car and shows the driver piling down the hard shoulder of the M57 at great speed.
The owner of the car that filmed the whole show said that the driver was in a high speed chase with the police at the time, although it is not clear whether the police were involved at all.
Either way, the driver of the Volkswagen Golf was putting their own and loads of other people's at risk on the motorway in Knowsley, near Liverpool.

The shocking video shows the car going massively too fast down the side of the motorway, which is a stupid, reckless and potentially deadly combo.
There are plenty of other vehicles on the road too, including the car with the dash camera and a truck in front. As it passes the filming car it seems to veer into the outside lane. It's pretty terrifying stuff.
The driver described how he saw the Golf driver 'travelling at high speed down the hard shoulder towards oncoming traffic'.
He continued: "It all happened very quickly and could have been very nasty.
"I could see his headlights in the distance, then in no time at all he flew past. I only managed to sweep the wipers as it passes."

In the video clip a police car can be seen driving the correct way down the motorway, but it isn't clear whether the two things are related.
What is clear is that the guy is travelling at some pace. It has been speculated that he could have been going as fast as 120mph.
Merseyside Police have said that they have had no report of the incident.
Weirdly enough it's not the first time that this has happened in recent times. Last year a Ford Focus driver was arrested for driving down the wrong side of the same motorway.

On this occasion the driver of the car was actually being chased by the police.
It was suspected that the driver had been involved in the theft of a load of spirits and women's clothes from a Marks and Spencer store.
