Christmas time can be hard on your pocket, and if you're still trying to think of the perfect gift for your other half, mum or nan, why not considering buying them a house?

Now, I know what you're thinking, 'I can't afford that, I'm a millennial and I've spent all my money on sandwiches and scratch cards, apparently', but what if I told you that you could get this three-bedroom property, with views of the Welsh Valleys, for a quid?

Yup, this terraced house, which was previously rented out for £425 ($567) a month, is going to be auctioned next month with a reserve of just £1 ($1.33).

And, really what can you buy for a quid? You can't even get a Festive Slice for that.

Paul Fosh, who is auctioning the property, said: "People looking at our catalogue may well think that the £1 reserve is a typo but it's not. If someone bids £1 and there are no others bidding then the property is theirs.

"The property, which is being sold with vacant possession, has already benefited from some renovation and now requires further modernisation and finishing works."

The house, in Tonypandy, Rhondda, south Wales, comprises a hallway, lounge, kitchen and bathroom, with three bedrooms upstairs - imaging getting this for a pound.

Paul continued: "We're expecting to have a lot of interest in the property which, with a reserve price of just £1, must be the cheapest house currently on the market anywhere in Britain.

"Ultimately it'll be the auction floor and those that attend the sale or put in bids over the telephone who'll decide what this property is worth, taking everything, including renovation costs into consideration.

"The property at this price could well be a shrewd investment for renovation and buy to let."

The property will be auctioned on 7 December by Paul Fosh Auctions.
