Key Worker Admits She's Been Breaking Lockdown Rules To Have Sex

A woman admits she has been regularly breaking lockdown rules to have sex with a man who lives in another house and says she feels 'zero shame or regret'.

Monica Holmes, 34, says she has been seeing the man twice a week for sex at their separate homes in Yorkshire throughout the lockdown.

She is now backing a campaign to create 'sex bubbles' so couples can meet to have sex without breaking the rules.

Under current rules, people living alone can form a 'bubble' with one person from another household and can spend the night together, but relationship expert Louise Van Der Velde, who launched the campaign, hopes that the rules will be relaxed further so that all people outside of high-risk groups can sleep with whoever they like.

Monica, a carer, said: "I have been having sex throughout lockdown.

"I'm a very sexual person and l couldn't live without sex. I need the physical release for my mental wellbeing. It's a brilliant stress reliever and, given everything which is going on in the world, we need it more than ever.

"It's so ridiculous to think anyone could be arrested or fined for following our basic human instincts and needs. Just try and arrest me.

"I started seeing a guy four months ago, just before lockdown started. We both decided right after the new rules came in that we would still see one another and we meet twice a week for sex either at his place or mine.

"I don't care what my neighbours think, they don't know me so they can't judge or bad mouth me. While they'll be some people who say what I'm doing is wrong, there's also a lot of people who agree with me and are doing the same.

"It's inhumane to tell people they can't have sex. We are not naughty school children and the more you forbid something, the more people will want to do it.

"Because I'm a key worker I can get tested anytime. I did a test a few weeks ago and it was negative. But I am not worried about getting covid 19 because I'm so healthy I don't think it would even affect me.

"I work out at the gym a lot and look after myself. This is why I'm so sexually active. Healthy people have much more sex than people who don't look after themselves.

"Lockdown is just nonsense. How can people from different households not date or have sex, yet tens of thousands of people can gather for a mass protest in London? It just doesn't add up.

"No one is going to stop me living my life and enjoying myself and other people should do the same."
