Woman Who 'Stormed Cockpit' On Jet2 Flight Slapped With £85,000 Bill

A disruptive woman who allegedly tried to open the emergency door of a Jet2 flight shouting 'I'll kill you all' has been given an £85,000 airline bill as well as a lifetime ban.

Chloe Haines, 25, needed to be restrained by crew with the help of passengers just 45 minutes into the journey from Stansted Airport to Dalaman, Turkey.

Miss Haines is said to have displayed a catalogue of aggressive, abusive and dangerous behaviour on the aircraft, which included attempting to open the aircraft doors during the flight.

The aircraft - which was supposed to be flying to Dalaman - was diverted back to London Stansted and in a rush to escort the aircraft, RAF fighter jets created a sonic boom which could be heard for miles around.

On arrival at London Stansted, airport police boarded to arrest Miss Haines on suspicion of assault and endangering an aircraft. Jet2 is supporting the authorities with their investigation.

"She must now face up to the consequences of her actions, and we will vigorously pursue to recover the costs that we incurred as a result of this divert, as we do with all disruptive passengers.

"As a family friendly airline, we take an absolutely zero tolerance approach to disruptive behaviour, and we hope that this sobering incident, with its very serious consequences, provides a stark warning to others who think that they can behave in this fashion."

Speaking to the publication, Amy Varol who was sitting two rows behind, said: "The woman was walking down the aisle when she literally ran to the exit door.

"She had her hands on the handle trying to open it. Luckily there were two cabin crew there who pulled her off the door. She started assaulting the two crew members, a woman and a man.

"A big guy then literally threw her down to the floor and there was one person holding one arm and another person holding the other.

"Then a man sat on her and one person was holding her leg and someone else holding the other one. That's when she started screaming 'get off me', 'I'm going to kill everyone'."
