Could be perfect for long evenings in the garden

As the outside world begins to seem more and more like a distant dreams, gardens are becoming ever more invaluable to those who have them (the b******s).

But with nippy evenings tempting us back within the four walls where we spend every waking hour, Aldi has come up trumps with a nifty solution.

Aldi's fire pits and log burners return to stores next week.
Aldi

The supermarket's popular log burners and fire pits are returning to stores next week, allowing *you to stay outside longer.

(*Only if you have a garden. Sorry if you don't have a garden, I feel your pain and this really is rubbing salt in the wounds - but definitely don't buy a log burner or a fire pit if you don't have a garden. I can't reiterate that enough.)

Being Aldi, the garden enhancers are both reasonably priced, with the log burner setting you back £59.99 ($74.28) and the fire pit priced at £49.99 ($61.90).

Both are available online from Sunday (26 April) and in stores from Thursday (30 April), though these are Specialbuys, meaning once they're gone, they're gone.

A description of the log burner reads as follows: "Imagine long evenings with friends around a real log fire. This steel Outdoor Log Burner is the perfect accompaniment as the days cool, offering a stylish and practical way to stay warm. It even has a handy log store so you'll not run out of fuel!"

Sorry Aldi, but I am choosing not to imagine 'long evenings with friends' at the moment. It simply hurts too much. But yes, there's no substitute for a good fire, and it might be nice to gaze into it lonesomely like they do in films, acting all pensive about quarantine life.

Alternatively, the fire pit also doubles up as a barbecue, which is handy.

Pretty and practical/handsome and handy. Whichever you prefer.

A description reads: "This attractive stone-effect fire pit not only offers a warming focal point, but it's also portable so you can enjoy it anywhere in your garden or patio. It's easy to put together for your get-togethers and includes a lid, grate and hand tool."

Sorry Aldi, but can you stop going on about 'friends' and 'get-togethers'? Honestly, give it a rest. Someone needs to get these product descriptions updated for summer 2020 'cause they haven't aged well.
