Aussie Legends Recreate Sushi Train While In Self-Isolation

Aussie Legends Recreate Sushi Train While In Self-Isolation

When you can't go to your favourite restaurant, why not just create it in your own home?

We've all been missing our usual vices ever since self-isolation rules kicked into place.

Whether that's your morning gym workout, your weekly brunch at your favourite spot or date night at that hot new restaurant, it's tough not being social at the moment.

But, you could always try and do what these people from Australia did and create it for yourself.

Many Aussies have an affinity for sushi that gets delivered to you on a conveyor belt.

So this bloke from Adelaide and his pal recreated that exact concept in their kitchen.

TikTok user @chaiseinator bought all the things they would need for sushi, aka rice, seaweed sheets, carrot, cucumber and tofu.

They doused the tofu in teriyaki sauce, cooked it in a frying pan and then combined all the ingredients to make a lovely looking sushi roll.

The pair then lined up a bunch of train tracks from a kid's toy set and even drew some colour coded plate prices on a piece of paper.

If you've never been to a sushi train-style restaurant before then this will all mean nothing to you.

They managed to serve up a couple of decent looking sushi offerings and then ate it all with delight.

The ingenuity that people are coming up with during self-isolation is simply incredible.

People have turned part of their homes into replica pubs just to remind them of the good ole days when you could sink at pint at your local.

British man Steve Heming, a freight forwarder, realised his partner, Madeleine Markey, was feeling the strain of being cooped up inside, like many of us are.

Both being beer fans, Steve decided that a night out at the pub would be just the thing, albeit with a slight twist.

Steve told LADbible: "My fiancée has been feeling a bit down with everything going on, and as I could not cheer her up by taking her to the pub, I thought I would bring the pub to her.

"So I made the sign and we ordered the beers."

Steve even decided to 'open' the pub to the online world, and has started running online events on Instagram (@stevehldn) - including everyone's favourite, pub quizzes - where his bio now simply reads: "Bartender at the Isolate Inn."

Let's all bring some positivity, support and fun to anyone who might find themselves in isolation as a result of the coronavirus spread. Need some entertainment? Join Isolation Nation: https://www.facebook.com/groups/coronasupport/
