Firstly, credit has to go to the dad who, although he may not have recognised a celebrity was sat next to him, was able to use an iPhone and tell his daughter the exciting news.
However, due to this celebrity not being born until 1992, he disappointed many by not being 'down with the kids'.
Deanna Hall was just chilling at home when she received a text from her dad asking: "Who is Nick Jonas."
At that moment, I can only imagine that her face went a little like this...
After all, it is a bizarre question for your dad to ask you, particularly, by the sounds of it, when he has displayed no interest in modern pop culture before today.
Deanna, a University of South Florida student, replied: "A famous singer. I love him. He was part of the Jonas Brothers." - Like that last bit is going to help her dad in any way.
As her father sat in first class with Delta Airlines, he responded: "He is setting [sic] beside me on the plane."

Suddenly, his daughter's tone of expression changed. All in capitals, she wrote: "SEND PIC. TAKE A PIC WITH HIM. TELL HIM I LOVE HIM. GET AN AUTOGRAPH."
The dad was never going to let his daughter down, and managed to get Nick to take a lone selfie, before getting the pair in one together.
Deanna then put the text chat and the images up on Twitter, and the tweet has since had over 49,380 retweets and more than 186,000 likes.
Sadly, he failed to get the autograph, as Deanna revealed in one of the replies.
One of the flight attendants also commented, adding: "Yeah ur [sic] dad was so confused lol... it was cute!! I was working the flight and people were so shocked that Nick was actually on it!"
Deanna's dad got a lot of the praise with one user calling him 'pure' and another adding he was 'precious'.
However, much of the humour came from the woman sat behind the two men on the flight.
Nick, himself, has put nothing on social media about the random meet.
