Designer clog brand Crocs is known for its, let's say, outside-the-box thinking, bringing out increasingly wacky footwear - much to the delight of the masses.

Well, they've done it again, this time joining forces with fast-food giant KFC to bring the world just what it needs right now, poultry-scented sandals.

Set to go on sale later this year, the 'KFC x Crocs' shoes are a feat of podiatric engineering.

Complete with the chain's famous red and white branding and two meaty charms, the clogs were launched in collaboration with New York Fashion Week, with artist Me Love Me a Lot modelling a pair.

Sadly, however, the platform versions she wore, won't be available for general sale, instead regular Crocs will go on sale this spring and will be priced at $60 (£46.29).

Launching the interesting design, Crocs' website says: "Do you love world famous fried chicken? Do you love Crocs? Do you love brand spokespersons like Colonel Sanders? Then, boy, howdy, do we have something for you.

"Covered in a fried chicken print and a striped base, these will make your dreams of wearing a bucket of chicken finally come true.

"Finally. Your two favourite brands, immortalised on a rivet to prove a collaboration happened.

"Each pair of co-branded footwear comes with two Jibbitz charms made to resemble and smell like fried chicken."

Adding: "Not for human consumption."

It's safe to say that they have so far divided opinion, with people unsure as to whether they're amazing or hideous.

Don't eat the chicken.

Commenting on the launch, one person wrote: "For real though they kinda look fire."

"There are so many things wrong with this that they all cancel each other out and this is perfectly normal," said a second.

While another put: "This cant be real. KFC is getting out of hand."

But this is just one in a long line of bizarre takes on the classic Croc. Last year, we were treated to GOTH CROCS.

That's right: Crocs, but with a unique gothic twist.

Said 'Goth Crocs' have been spotted on Etsy, where they're being sold for £190.60 ($248.62), plus delivery, by US store Heavy Cream.

And before that, Chinatown Market created a version that were covered in AstroTurf.
