More footage has emerged of the attempted heist of a cash-in-transit van in South Africa. Watch it here:

The video shows the driver of the van expertly manoeuvre through the armed robbers, who have set up various vehicles in an attempt to stop the cash-in-transit workers.

The new video of the attack was shared on social media.

One viewer wrote: "Driver was watching his six even before the shooting started. Incredible awareness with his mirrors. He assessed where the threat was coming from and got IN FRONT of them to take away their line of fire.

"Then switched to the other mirror because he saw them coming around for the ram. After evading that he spun the vehicle to go AGAINST FREE WAY TRAFFIC taking away the assailants' momentum and disorient them.

"Up becomes down and left becomes right. Even then he still watches for where shots are going to come from and negotiates ONCOMING free way traffic without causing an accident. All this in under a minute.

"It only takes five pounds of pressure to pull a trigger but this is far more smarter [sic], faster and braver - all without firing a shot. The fox can hunt like the wolf but the wolf cannot adapt like the fox."

The original video shows the raiders ram the Toyota truck, crashing into the side of it while the driver and an armed guard try to flee through traffic. You can watch below (the video contains strong language):

Video footage of the incident records the sound of bullets, and the impact seen on the driver's window as the outer pane shatters beside him.

He changes gear and speeds away, attempting to steer through traffic in order to lose the assailants.

The driver's guard grabs his rifle, gripping it ready for the next onslaught. He then does a U-turn, shouting: "They're going to shoot. They're going to f***ing shoot."

More gun shots ring out in the background, with the driver then shouting to his colleague: "Phone Robbie, phone Josh. Ask them where they are."

Two-and-a-half minutes later, the driver parks up, grabs the rifle and gets out, but the raiders have realised that they're going to be unsuccessful and have fled the scene, giving up their mission.

He's been praised for his calm, collected reaction to the attempted heist, which took place on 22 April in South Africa.

One social media user wrote: "This team is brilliant; if one of them panicked we would be discussing something else."
