A medical student has explained the creepy reason why he doesn't show expectant mothers MRI scans of their babies.
In a video to his channel, he explains that babies tend to look really, really weird when they are in the womb.
Like, really weird. Hold on to your hats, folks.
In the clip, the young medic said: "The creepiest and funniest thing I've seen in medicine are MRIs of babies during pregnancy."
Standing in front of an image of an MRI scan, he continues: "The image behind me is an MRI of a baby during pregnancy, and, yeah..."
At this point, he moves out of the way to show the image of a tiny head with a pair of big, bulging eyes staring back at him.
The doctor then continues: "You wanna see another one? Check this one out... yeah, this is straight-up out of a nightmare."
Pointing to what appears to be a creepy demon face, he adds: "This!"
In a second video, he replies to a question from a follower about whether he would show the images to an expecting mother.
Unsurprisingly, the student says: "First of all, I don't know how I would explain this to an expecting mother, like, 'Hey this is the thing growing inside of you. This is pretty creepy!'"
"Second of all, I doubt any expecting mother wants to know that her child looks like this.
"So the simple answer is, for the mother's sake, no. Unless they really want to see it, in which case you asked for it."
Since the video was shared, it has been viewed more than 1.7 million times, with the doc's followers suitably freaked out.
One user joked: "This is Insidious 4 right?"
Another quipped: "The second MRI looks like Mr Bean."
A third said: "I'd be worried thinking that the baby will come out like this."
While another cried: "Well, not going to get this picture out of my head."
