A Scottish lad was left eating alone after the date he travelled hours to meet didn't turn up. Watch the story unfold in the clip below:

Craig Moffat made the journey from Edinburgh to Aberdeen recently, excited by the prospect of his first date after two years of being single.

However, the 21-year-old's excitement quickly turned to heartbreak when he realised that he had been stood up.

Sharing his journey to TikTok, Craig wrote: "Maybe it's not time to get out there just yet."

In the video, Craig can be seen boarding a train, with the caption 'Can't wait, I'm so excited' written across the video.

He then hops off and jumps back on another train to finish his mammoth trip.

Arriving 20 minutes early, Craig then waits for his date to arrive - although 35 minutes later there's still no sign of them.

But he doesn't let it go to waste, ordering a meal, a dessert and some shots to tide him over.

The video ends with Craig getting the train back home, writing: "I guess I'll just head home. I was really looking forward to tonight."

Echoing these sentiments, another wrote: "Dude, I know you were excited but you've dodged someone that would make you really unhappy in the end.

"You deserve better."

A third wrote: "You took yourself on a date! That's the only one who truly deserves you."

While another added: "Guys/girls the one who stood you up will neve find happiness. Keep smiling."

One viewer said: "She's not worth it if she didn't even show up."

Summing up the general sentiment, yet another person replied: "Omg no this is so sad. I hope you're okay."
