After 17 years, Friends fans finally got to witness the cast of the much-loved sitcom return this week for a one-off special.

Presented by James Corden, the episode saw all six of the main characters reunite for an in depth discussion about the making of the show, which first aired in 1994.

But aside from all the revelations, Matt LeBlanc's casual attitude towards the whole thing is what really caught people's attention, and he's now officially been claimed by Twitter.

The actor, who went on to present Top Gear, wore a shirt, jeans and trainers to the reunion, and sat on the couch with his arms crossed, occasionally making self-deprecating jokes.

At one point, he made a joke about himself putting weight on. When Jennifer Aniston commented that the set felt smaller, she said it's impossible because they 'haven't grown', with LeBlanc joking: "Speak for yourself."

But mainly, the 53-year-old, who played Joey in the show, was compared to people's dads, with social media comparing him to an Irish dad on Christmas day. Once again, Twitter came good with the memes.

The reunion featured Jennifer Aniston (Rachel Green), Courteney Cox (Monica Geller), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay), Matt LeBlanc (Joey Tribbiani), Matthew Perry (Chandler Bing), and David Schwimmer (Ross Geller) who got together to celebrate the show, which ended way back in 2004.

And it turns out the chemistry between Ross and Rachel wasn't purely for the benefit of the show.

During the interview, James Corden said: "Will you allow me to ask what I would consider a cheeky question? It's hard not to recognise that you're all young, hot, good-looking successful actors."

He then suggested: "It's inconceivable to me that there weren't perhaps off screen romances."

Aniston responded: "Well... I mean... David... the first season."

Replying to his co-star, David added: "The first season... we... I had a major crush on Jen."

Jen then confirmed: "It was reciprocated."

The pair even said they came close to an off-screen relationship, but sadly, it never happened.

David said: "At some point we were both crushing hard on each other. But it was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship and we never crossed that boundary and we both respected that."

Matt LeBlanc then interjected, claiming that was 'bulls***'.

But what exactly was he calling bulls*** on? They did cross the boundary? We need to know more.

After the crowd and cast stopped laughing at Joey's joke, Jennifer said: "I remember saying to David 'it's gonna be really such a bummer if the first time you and I actually kiss is gonna be on national television' and sure enough the first time we kissed was in that coffee shop.

"We just channelled all of our adoration and love for each other into Ross and Rachel."
