Meat Loaf Mocked After He Claimed Greta Thunberg Is 'Brainwashed'

It seems a lot of people don't have a lot of time for the singer's views on climate change

The US rocker Meat Loaf has been widely mocked on social media after he claimed climate change activist Greta Thunberg is 'brainwashed'.

The Bat Out of Hell singer - whose real name is Marvin Lee Aday - said he felt sorry for Thunberg, adding that climate change isn't real.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, he said: "I feel for that Greta. She has been brainwashed into thinking that there is climate change and there isn't.

"She hasn't done anything wrong but she's been forced into thinking that what she is saying is true."

However, it seems the majority of people are more inclined to back Thunberg and the ever-growing bank of scientific evidence that supports her cause, rather than the views of a 72-year-old singer who named himself after a bread-shaped mound of ground meat.

In a tweet, one person said: "BTW I'm glad to finally hear noted climatologist #MeatLoaf finally weigh in on climate change. How long did he expect us to wait to find out the truth? We waited for him and waited and waited... finally he came down from the mountain to share his wisdom."

Another said: "There is the barrel, the bottom of the barrel and then there's the puddle of filth where the barrel once stood. And in that there's a microbe. That's Meat Loaf's insight."

A third simply added: "Like A T**T Out Of Hell."

Ironically, the meaty man recently backed Frankie & Benny's new vegan menu, saying he would 'do anything for our planet' - except change his name to Veg Loaf.

He said: "When Frankie & Benny's first approached me to rebrand to Veg Loaf I said no way in hell - I won't do that.

"But, I'd do anything for our planet and dropping meat for veg, even for just one day a week, can make a huge difference - which is why I'm backing Frankie's new vegan menu."
