Sometimes it's hard to get exactly why things become popular on the Internet. In the case of Ferdi, the Turkish mechanic, it's not that tough.

About a year ago, he was simply trying to get a car back onto the road by fixing a tyre. Little did he know that he was about to be catapulted to Internet superstardom. His big break was just around the corner.

In reality, the person who was catapulted - and, actually, the person who was right around the corner - was an unsuspecting cyclist who, fortunately for everyone else, was wearing a head camera.

The cyclist clipped the wall and flew through the air, landing on Ferdi whilst he tried to repair the car on the pavement.

Ferdi smacked his head on the underside of the car, got up, gave the cyclist a piece of his mind and - in doing so - uttered the now infamous line: "Why you coming fast?"

Believe it or not, that very line was enough for the good people of the Internet. They latched onto it and Ferdi went viral. Recently, the video has had a massive resurgence.

The video has been viewed millions of times and has spawned imitations, parodies, and even an animation. All because of a chance encounter between a cyclist, a mechanic, the mechanic's head and a car.

Anyway, to capitalise on his new-found fame, Ferdi has started up an Instagram page on which he has so far posted the original video, as well as several other videos.

It turns out that rogue cyclists aren't the only thing that is 'coming fast' because within a very short space of time 300,000 people have followed Ferdi's new account. That's more than some people who actually make a living from being Insta-famous.

If Ferdi wants to get hold of the latest bronzer or gel nails, he's presumably in luck.

When he created the account, he said that he was going to reveal the full story of what happened that day. Now that would be interesting.

It's not entirely clear what happened after the video stopped, so there is something of a cliffhanger there. Perhaps there was a fight, perhaps they resolved their differences. Who knows?

Ferdi released a video that was captioned: "Hello guys :) I will later upload video explaining the whole story of what happen when the guy was coming fast."

We can only wait and see. After posting the original video, Ferdi has promised 'good news for people that love me very soon'.

Let's see where he's going with this.
