A West Australian nursing home has thrown a social distancing party for its residents.

A video shared by a resident from the Forsyth Gardens retirement village in Menora shows loads of people pulling up a chair outside their property and having a drink and a chat.

Footage of the street party was trending around the country, with many people loving that people were working with the new rules to keep their mental health in check.

But as the video was being shared by people on social media, people couldn't help but notice a striking similarity between one of the residents and an iconic TV character.

If you freeze the video, you can see the woman giving out some epic Kath Day-Knight energy.

Whoever you are, you are a legend.

The Forsyth Gardens community had to be shut down due to the Covid-19 outbreak, leaving many to stay inside for their safety.

However, after much deliberation, residents decided to throw a little street party but maintain a good level of distance.

Resident Susan Moss said: "The party was so successful, we are going to keep it going every Friday night whilst the weather is good."

"With so many singles in the village, ages ranging from 73 to 97, it is giving them support during this difficult time, when we at our ages are requested to stay home.

Moss added that after the first event, she noticed a change in some of the residents.

She said: "They don't feel so alone being able to join together in this fun way."
