Woman Tries Chatting Up Neighbour With Signs In Window In Lockdown

The hopeless romantic decided to take matters into her own hands

Dating over the past year has been, to put it simply, non-existent. So in the spirit of grabbing the bull by the horns, one hopeless romantic decided to tell her neighbour exactly how she felt about him. Sadly, it didn't go as she had planned. Watch below:

After becoming quite fond of her neighbour but unable to actually speak to him because of lockdown restrictions, TikTok user @a129593a erected a huge sign in her window asking him if he was single.

It read: "@ the man with a bike on his balcony. R U single?"

While some of us might think this is a touch weird, the mystery man, known only as Alex, saw the sign and kindly replied.

Sadly, however, it wasn't what she wanted to hear.

His message said: "Yes but I'm moving in 2 month's time. Sorry. Ps, stay romantic."

Ouch.

Not a quitter, though, @a129593a put up another message, responding with 'worth a try' and her phone number, 'just in case'.

The video ends on a cliffhanger with a redacted text message from Alex.

Since it was posted, the video has been viewed thousands of times, with hundreds of people asking for more details.

One user said: "I need to know more. We all need pt2. I hope he wants to meet. I'm praying this goes well, even if just friends it would be cool."

Another put: "What did the text say?"

A third wrote: "I need to know more. What did the text message say?"

While another praised: "This is so the beginning of a romantic novel (and being brave)."

Not everyone was fully behind the stunt, though.

One critic said: "Stalking looks very different in 2021."

Last year, an influencer also spent her lockdown trying to find a boyfriend - and streamed blind dates live on her Instagram.

Urszula Makowska from Brooklyn, New York, entertained herself and her 230,000 followers by handing over control of her account on dating app Hinge to her friends. Said friends then found her matches and arranged for them to have a blind date with her on Instagram Live.
