Cat Shelter Tries To Sell Bong Online Without Knowing What It Is

A Canadian cat shelter made a strange and hilarious mistake when trying to sell a 'bottle' on the internet without realising that it was actually a cannabis bong.

It's pretty obvious if you know what a bong looks like, but obviously the folks at the Ontario based Feral Cat Rescue Shelburne weren't clued in.

In fact, they shared the picture online asking for $175 for the thing.

They even called it a 'cat bottle' which is adorable.

In a post to their Facebook followers, the shelter shared a picture of their new donation and said: "This Stunning Cat Bottle was donated to the Rescue by Mike Vandenberg and has a retail Value of $225.00."

"We are asking 175.00 and it comes with box and bag and all items shown. 100% of the proceeds go to the Feral Cat Rescue Heat Pumps so the cats can keep warm in the shelter this winter.

"Please message in the comments below if you are interested or call 519 278 0707 to view the bottle. It is a true work of art.

"Thanks so much Mike! Thanks to everyone for your continued support!"

Bless. They've obviously got no idea. Either that or they're playing a very obscure joke on Canada's cat community.

Anyway, as far as bongs go, it's actually a pretty good one. They're not known for being tasteful, however, and this one is no different.

It's got rainbow coloured glass on it, and is branded 'cheech glass' with a picture of a psychedelic cat on the main body of it.

Almost makes you wonder why someone donated it to a cat shelter, eh?

Whilst Mike obviously meant well, he probably could have told the good folks at the Feral Cat Shelter that he wasn't donating a 'cat bottle' - as such a thing doesn't exist - but a piece of drug taking paraphernalia.

At least smoking weed is legal in Canada though.

People have been gently ribbing the shelter online following their unfortunate error, which has actually become something of a great publicity stunt.

One said: "Bottle? Never heard a bong called a bottle before, but it is indeed a work of art."

Another added: "The innocence is sweet and hilarious at the same time, and it's a very cool cat 'bottle' haha"

Hey, if they're lucky the attention gained from this might even help them generate a bit of cash. They'll probably shift the bong now, anyway.

Just - for the love of God - don't feed the cats any of the water in that thing.
