Dad Left Disappointed After Buying Aldi Sandwich With Barely Any Filling

Well, what did he expect?

A dad was left disappointed after receiving a pretty pathetic sandwich from Aldi.

OK, so there's an acceptance when buying a supermarket sandwich that it's going to be a little bit disappointing, but this is frankly ridiculous.

Thirty-two-year-old Joel Turner, from Stroud in Gloucestershire, thought that he'd got a decent deal when he bought an all day breakfast sandwich from Aldi that promised bacon, sausage and egg.

At £1.99, he was supposed to get three sandwiches featuring various combinations of the three filling ingredients.

However, when he actually tore into the pack and got his hands on the sarnies, he was shocked to discover - well - not much at all, really.

Joel then took to Facebook to complain about the meagre fillings that he'd been offered up, and even shared a photograph of the sandwich to prove that he wasn't messing around.

He posted: "Very disappointed with my sandwich from Aldi, not even half full!

"Very deceiving as it looks full in the packet but when you actually look inside you get this."

Again, most of the time, sandwiches bought from a supermarket are a bit of a let-down, but this takes the biscuit.

Speaking to The Mirror, Joel added: "They [Aldi] replied saying if I took the receipt back I could get a full refund. I didn't do this as I didn't have the receipt anymore!

"It was pitiful and deceiving! It looked full from the outside."

To be fair, it's obviously not happening to every single sandwich that Aldi sells. The Aldi Eat and Go sandwich actually has a decent number of favourable reviews online, with three five-star votes from people who would 'recommend the product'.

One of those reviews, a person from Lytham St Annes in Lancashire, wrote: "Best pre-packed sandwich ever! Tasty, packed filling, soft bread and great price."

Well, while that person might have got away with a decent lunch, the same definitely can't be said for poor Joel.

Lunchtime at work is difficult enough without something like that ruining everything for him.

As for Aldi, the supermarket has since said that it'll even accept the packaging as receipt for a refund if he's up for bringing it in to the store.

In a Facebook message, the company said: "Hi Joel, we're very sorry to see this. If you still have your receipt, you can return the packaging to any branch of Aldi within 60 days of purchase and we'll be happy to provide a full refund."

An Aldi spokesperson said: "We're sorry to hear that this sandwich didn't meet our usual high standards and have shared Mr Jordan's feedback with our supplier".
