Expert Believes Aliens Don't Visit Earth Because We're Too Stupid

A professor has said that he believes that extra-terrestrial life hasn't beamed down to earth just yet because alien races just think we're all thick.

You heard.

We've invented the wheel, the motor car, and the flipping large hadron collider, but still these snooty aliens think they're better than us.

Stay up on your own planet then, why don't you?

Harvard professor of astronomy Avi Loeb also believes that aliens hate green grass, and that a super smart race of alien creatures flew a space object right by our planet in 2017 before swerving off around the sun.

Of course, this all sounds pretty out there, but the guy is a professor at Harvard, and they aren't just handing out positions like that.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Loeb said that the object could have been some junk left behind by aliens, or part of their spacecraft that came loose, because - he reckons - they simply aren't interested in paying us a visit.

Expanding on that argument, Loeb also said that humans should set up UFO detection posts wherever sightings are recorded.

Why though? They're not going to stop by for a cup of tea because we're a species of complete and utter cretins, right?

Loeb suggests that it could be a cheap and effective way to test out conspiracies and wheedle out hoaxes.

He said: "The most common stars in the galaxy are dwarf stars. Most stars are about a tenth of the mass of the Sun and they are also twice cooler than the Sun so they are red.

"They emit mostly infrared radiation and if there is life on planets next to them... that life will have infrared eyes and the grass will not be green on those planets, it will be dark red."

"So if you think about interstellar travel agents, they will not market the Earth as a desirable destination because for the infrared eyes of most of the creatures in the Milky Way the green grass is not particularly appealing, they want dark red grass so this could be an explanation for Fermi's Paradox [of] why they don't come to visit us."

He added: "It's possible that we are not that attractive and we are not very interesting in terms of our intelligence.

"For some reason humans do not cooperate and that's really unfortunate, and it's not a sign of intelligence so I can imagine a much smarter kid on the block.

"The subject of UFOs is of interest to the government because some of the reports might relate to instruments used by other nations, for example the US is not aware of, so they pose a national security threat so there's an interest in exploring what they are.

"I don't believe in conspiracies by the way, if there was anything to do with an alien civilisation the news would have leaked somehow."

"People can report things from personal experience that are not necessarily true.

"We should invest a relatively small sum of money, it will not cost much, in deploying the best instruments we have now in the same sites from where the reports came and monitor the environment for a long enough time."

Well, there's no point if we're all too dumb to even merit a flypast, is there?
